Madoogali March 2010 - Incubation in-situ:
Dr. W. Loch preparing the pools, pumps and coral eggs recipients. Ca 30.000 gametes are spread among the 3 pools (with 250L of sea water each) - 2 had 6 nested plastic recipients (the bottoms were replaced by plankton nets) ensuring water and O2 renewal, but being protected from the pump activity. 20% of pool water was exchanged every day.
Madoogali March 2010 Coral mass - spawning
happening at night: Spawning slicks appearing on the shore from ca 9.00 pm.A couple of litters of spawning slicks is collected and brought to in-situ facilities to be cultivated for 5 days until free- swimming larvae have developed.
